Andrea C. Harrison was elected to represent the 5th District of Prince George’s County in a special election in 2008, and re-elected to her first full term in 2010. Following in her late father’s footsteps, the Honorable James C. Fletcher, Jr. who once occupied the seat, she was the first woman elected to represent District 5 on the County Council.

During her service, she was chosen by her colleagues to serve as Chair for the 2012 and 2013 legislative years, and served as vice-chair in 2010. She also belongs to several committees, including the Council Committee on Planning, Zoning and Economic Development (PZED) and the Public Safety and Fiscal Management Committee.

As a lifelong resident of District 5 in Prince George’s County, Council Member Harrison has served this community for more than 15 years. She lives in Springdale with her husband Charles, and their sons, Eric and Christian. Their daughter, Nikita Adams, now resides in Los Angeles, California. Harrison attended Prince George’s Community College and Bowie State University.

Andrea is truly homegrown and no one would be better suited to serve as a delegate for Maryland’s 24th District. Her genuine care and concern for her community, and track record of hard work and results make her more than qualified to represent this community on the State level.
