I am committed and proud to serve District 5 residents. I have consistently delivered services, resources, and support to meet the needs of our constituents. This is NOT on-the-job training for ME.
My accomplishments include:
Education
- Provided “Community First” grants to multiple schools within district 5 for extended learning opportunities, after school programs, and classroom activities
- Purchased books and other materials for elementary schools
- Provided grants to various organizations other learning opportunities such as creative writing, the performing arts, and children’s resource centers
- Provided conference opportunities for educational sessions on best practices for serving and operating in Common Ownership Communities
Public Safety
- Purchased materials for police department for community training
- Negotiated the purchase and installation of security cameras for a school
Transportation
- Worked successfully with developers to include transportation, such as shuttles, within projects for ease of travel to metro stations
- Worked with the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) to increase use of The Bus into areas not being served and new development projects
- Worked with State Highway Administration (SHA) to include installation of more sidewalks in area where are none
Economic Development
- Intimately involved in District 5 economic development projects including Vista Gardens Marketplace, Woodmore Town Centre at Glenarden, Landover Gateway Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment
- Successfully negotiated community resources within development projects
